At Kemp Dental, we provide diagnostic, preventative, and restorative services to you and your whole family because your oral health is very important to your body’s total health. We recommend exams and cleanings every six months to ensure the quality of your mouth and teeth and to detect potential problems early.

Cleanings, Exams, and Periodontal Maintenance

At your appointment, one of our hygienists will give you a thorough exam assessing the overall health of your teeth, gums, tongue, and lips. X-rays may be taken to diagnose hidden decay and excess tartar, plaque, and stains will be removed. Finally, your teeth will be polished giving you a bright, fresh smile.

Periodontal Maintenance is required when bacteria in plaque attacks your gum tissue causing it to become inflamed and detach from the tooth. During periodontal maintenance, your hygienist will remove plaque and build up from below the gum line, promoting healthy gums and teeth, and then finish with polishing.

Fillings, Crowns, and Bridges

If decay is found in one or more of your teeth, it is very important the decay is removed and the space is filled to retain the health and structure of the tooth. We offer “tooth colored” fillings made from a sturdy composite material to do just that. We will match the shade of your natural tooth so there is no obvious difference between your natural tooth, and your filling.

Sometimes, if enough decay is present, a porcelain crown is required to fill and cover the whole tooth, restoring it to its natural shape.

Bridges are non-removable, tooth colored, porcelain replacements for missing teeth.

Root Canals

Sometimes, a root canal is needed if extensive decay has reached the nerve of the tooth. The soft tissue inside the inner chamber (root) of the tooth and the nerve are removed and then filled to prevent further decay.
